Booking terms & conditions

The Old Wash Kitchen Booking Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions govern your booking. By paying the deposit or balance, you acknowledge and accept these terms.

  1. A contract will be established between you (the lead guest) and us (the owners) upon our receipt of the deposit or balance payment and our issuance of a booking confirmation for the specified rental dates. This contract is binding for you and all members of your party. It is your responsibility to ensure that all party members understand and accept these terms. Failure to disclose relevant information or comply with these terms may result in contract termination and loss of the booking.

  2. A non-refundable deposit equal to the cost of the first night's rental, or £50 if a low deposit is offered, is due at the time of booking if made more than 28 days prior to the rental period. The remaining balance is due 28 days before the rental period. Failure to remit payment by the due date may result in cancellation of the booking. For bookings made within 28 days of the rental start date, full payment is required at the time of booking. Key codes and check-in details will be provided 24 hours prior to check-in, contingent upon receipt of the full balance, the damage/housekeeping deposit and all required pre-check-in information.

  3. We reserve the right to refuse a booking without providing a reason.

  4. Bookings will not be accepted from individuals under the age of 18.

  5. Third-party bookings are not permitted. The lead guest must be over 18 and must accompany all other guests for the duration of the booking.

  6. The property must not be re-let, sublet, or offered to any third party, even free of charge.

  7. Subject to clauses 1 and 2, in the event of non-insurable cancellation, refunds will be issued if we can successfully re-let the property. Any associated expenses or losses will be deducted from the refundable amount. Cancellations must be promptly communicated via email.

  8. The rental period begins at 3 PM on the first day and ends at 10 AM on the last day. We are not obligated to provide accommodation prior to 3 PM, and guests must vacate the property by the specified time.

  9. Parties, gatherings, or events are strictly prohibited.

  10. Children under 18 must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.

  11. You may not transfer your booking or any associated rights and responsibilities to another individual without our prior written consent.

  12. We reserve the right to terminate a holiday without compensation if the unreasonable behaviour of any guests impairs the comfort or enjoyment of others. Guests are expected to be considerate of noise levels, particularly in relation to neighbours in the adjoining property, who may also produce everyday living sounds.

  13. The maximum overnight occupancy is four guests, limited to those listed on the booking form. Breaches of this condition may result in immediate termination of the booking without refund. Daytime visitors must be limited, and they must adhere to the booking terms. Noise and parking considerations for neighbours are required.

  14. A damage/housekeeping deposit of £100 is required seven days prior to check-in to cover potential costs incurred during your stay. Deductions may be made for damage, loss, or excessive cleaning required. The remaining deposit will be refunded within seven days of check-out, with any excess charges invoiced to the lead guest.

  15. We reserve the right to cancel or modify arrangements for any reason beyond our control. In such cases, we will refund all payments made, including the deposit.

  16. We cannot accept liability for any alterations, delays, or cancellations caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to war, civil unrest, terrorism, industrial disputes, fire, illness, severe weather, livestock issues, epidemics, or government actions.

  17. By making a booking, you accept responsibility for any theft, breakage, or damage caused by you or any member of your party and agree to fully reimburse us for any resulting losses.

  18. Guests are advised to arrange comprehensive travel insurance that includes cancellation cover and protection for personal belongings, as these are not covered by our insurance.

  19. We, or our representatives, reserve the right to enter the property at any time for inspection, maintenance, or in the event of an emergency.

  20. Smoking and open flames, including candles and tea lights, are strictly prohibited on the premises. Violations of this policy may result in immediate termination of occupancy and forfeiture of all payments.

  21. Vaping is not permitted inside the property.

  22. Internet access is provided at no additional charge, subject to availability and fair usage. Family-appropriate websites are restricted.

  23. We are not liable for temporary defects or malfunctions of equipment, machinery, or appliances. Prompt notification of any issues is appreciated; however, we are not obligated to provide alternatives or compensation.

  24. As a privately owned property, we expect guests to respect the premises. The property will be provided in a clean condition, and guests must leave it in an acceptable state at the end of the rental period. This includes emptying bins and cleaning all used cookware and utensils. Additional cleaning costs due to unacceptable conditions will be deducted from the damage/housekeeping deposit.

  25. Charging of electric vehicles is not permitted on the property. There are no dedicated charging points, and use of any power sockets for this purpose is prohibited. Violating this policy may result in immediate booking termination without refund and potential charges for excess electricity usage.

  26. Any issues or complaints during your stay must be reported to us immediately; complaints made after check-out will not be considered.

  27. Please ensure that all doors are locked and windows closed when the property is unoccupied and upon departure. Failure to return issued keys will result in replacement costs being deducted from your damage/housekeeping deposit.

  28. We reserve the right to amend or add to these terms and conditions as necessary without prior notice.

  29. Dogs are welcome at no additional charge, subject to the rules outlined on the 'Dog Rules' page of our website at www.theoldwashkitchen.co.uk. By proceeding with the booking and payment, you agree to adhere to these rules and accept any necessary deductions from your damage/ housekeeping deposit related to your dog.
